As the old saying goes, “A woman’s work is never done.” In the days before washers and dryers were common household appliances, the task of doing laundry often took all day. Mothers would have to supervise small children while taking care of this task, as illustrated by this image of a mother keeping an eye on her baby girl while hanging laundry on the clothesline. This image was juried into the 2025 ArtPopCLT Cities Program, a year-long marketing and promotion award sponsored by ArtPop Street Gallery, Charlotte, NC.
