Graduation Series Art Prints - 3 Variations; 3 Sizes

from $50.00

This series of images was created to honor the Class of 2020 who Senior year was disrupted by the Coronavirus pandemic. Missing out on their commencement ceremonies and other celebrations marking their graduation is something they will never forget. Our family has a tradition of attending graduations as a group so that all the children will be inspired to continue their own educations. Although my parents did not attend college, they were huge believers in education and made a big deal about every step in our academic journeys. At each of these occasions, I am reminded of how much their support mean to me and how I always wanted to make them proud.

“Pride and Joy” depicts a male graduate celebrating with his parents and siblings. It was inspired by my nephew Max (Yale 2020). The smiles on everyone’s faces are a reflection that this education milestone is more than the graduate’s individual accomplishment - it is a positive outcome of the support his family has provided.

“Roots and Wings” shows a female graduate celebrating with her parents. It is said that the best things parents can do for their children is to give them roots (connection to family) and wings (in this case, education).

“Look Out World” shows a group of male and female graduates celebrating together. It is a tribute to the close friendships formed in high school and college, and the joy of achieving a common goal.

The art prints offered for sale are reproductions of original art quilt designs by Charlotte-based fiber artist Linda Keene.
